Join us for a special February 27 performance of Puccini's beloved opera La Bohème performed by Opera Colorado, Colorado's premier opera company. RMHUC attendees will also enjoy a pre-performance VIP reception including an onstage tour and a presentation about the production. We will meet again during the intermissions for complimentary prosecco and conversation.
Whether you are an opera aficionado or new to the art form, this is a unique opportunity to experience a classic opera in Denver with your fellow alums and their guests. The opera is performed in its original Italian, with English and Spanish subtitles available at every seat. We have reserved two blocks of seats with different degrees of visibility to the stage, acoustical fidelity, and price.* They are close to each other and to the location of the intermission receptions.

About La Bohème
Music by Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924)
Libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa
based on Scènes de la vie de Bohème by Henri Murger
Premiered February 1,1896, Teatro Regio, Turin, Italy, Arturo Toscanini conducting
In an attic in the Parisian Latin Quarter, the garret is cramped, but the personalities are expansive. A group of artists live the bohemian lifestyle full of complicated relationships and nights at the café on a starving artist’s budget. Through the tumultuous relationships between Mimì and Rodolfo, and Marcello and Musetta, Puccini’s best-known opera encourages you to fully appreciate the fragility of life and love. The story is told with music that is lyrical, beautiful, and emotionally touching.
