Harvard Moves Hike: Colorado Trail Segment Two
Saturday, November 9th, 9:00 AM
Join RMHUC Alumni/ae and friends for a casual Club hike on Saturday November 9th, 2024.
We plan to hike a portion of Segment Two of the Colorado Trail, starting at the South Platte River trailhead near Sedalia.
The trail gains 450 feet of elevation in the first mile so is a tougher moderate hike. Once we get up the ridge, the trail is warm and dry: it is often too hot in the summer and quite pleasant in the winter. The trail is out-and-back, and the group plans to turn around between the 2.5 and 4.3 mile markers for a total distance of between 5 and 8.6 miles. Since it is an out-and-back with a clearly marked trail, it is easy to turn around when you are ready.
This event is leashed-dog friendly, but there is no trash service along the trail or at the trailhead. Please be prepared to pack out dog waste if you decide to bring your dog.
Please note that there will be no toilets or facilities at this trailhead.
