Robert Haydn Silleck, age 68, died peacefully at home in Littleton, Colorado on January 6, 2013.

Haydn was born in 1944, the son of Robert and Patricia Silleck. His grandparents were Lois and Haydn Phillips of Honolulu and Sidney and Maude Silleck of Scarsdale, New York. Haydn was a graduate of Yale and the Harvard Business School. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mary Daley, in 1967. Haydn began his working life as a banker, but quit abruptly one day when he realized the bank was not about to make him president at the age of 26. After spending some time flipping houses, he tired of being dirty and began his career as an entrepreneur. He was part of a number of companies, including the Gold C coupon company and Colorado Cinemas. Haydn also co-founded the non-profit Jefferson Foundation and served as the president of the Denver chapter of the Big Brothers organization. After retirement, Haydn and Mary took off to see the world. When they were not traveling, they spent their time with friends and family, including adored grandchildren at home.

In June 2011, Haydn was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer. After his diagnosis, he continued to live life with enthusiasm, planning their adventures around his chemotherapy schedule. He passed away peacefully at home and without pain, with Mary by his side.

Haydn is survived by Mary, their daughter Sarah Haney (Lynn) of Denver and their son, Haydn Howland Silleck (Sonya) of Golden, Colorado, as well as four grandchildren, Claire and Morgan Haney and Mirabelle and Haydn Seth Silleck. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Ranlet Conway of Honolulu. Haydn was predeceased by his brother, John Howland Silleck.
