Invitation from Aaron Harber

Harvard Alumni are invited to input to "Bring Colorado Together" this election season.

The RMHUC is passing along the invitation below from Aaron Harber, MPA '89, as an informational service to Harvard folks in Colorado and Wyoming.  The Club does not sponsor or endorse these events.  Responding to the invitation may put you (and your guest) on a non-RMHUC mailing list.

Dear Harvard Colleague,

With Colorado already identified nationally as a target for this year’s election --- for control of the U.S. House, for determining who has a majority in the Colorado State House and State Senate, for addressing ballot issues with national implications, and especially for determining the next President (with the first of only three national Presidential Debates being held in Denver) --- our plan is to combine the best elements of our previous electoral public affairs initiatives so as to have a major impact in 2012 by highlighting the importance of mutually-respectful, fact-based debate.  You can see a draft of that plan at www.bit.ly/TogetherCO.

To determine what specific topics we should address and who our guests should be, we are holding a series of private sessions with key Coloradans such as yourself so you can (1) give us your suggestions about how to improve our political system and (2) participate in our effort to help “Bring Colorado Together” via our statewide, nonpartisan television program.  These luncheon sessions will consist of a wide-ranging discussion in which you can tell me what our priorities should be for our core election programming.  Your input on the following is requested:

  • How can a statewide venue for mutually-respectful discourse best develop solutions to the most important issues of the day?
  • What should be the focus of the “Bring Colorado Together” 2012 election television series?
  • Who does the State need to hear from and who should be asked to be on-air guests?
  • What specific legislative and regulatory changes are needed in Colorado (and why)?

Please use our online RSVP system to tell us which of the following dates work best for you: www.bit.ly/ShowRSVP.  The RSVP system also allows you to bring a guest.  In all cases, the start time is 12:00 pm (seating will be available at 11:30 am) and lunch will be provided.  Each session is scheduled to last no more than 75 minutes.
