Madeleine M. O'Brien; AB 1944; died August 19, 2017
Madeline died peacefully on August 19, 2017 in the presence of close family and friends. She was born in Bournemouth, England on May 16, 1924 and educated at the Sherborne School for Girls in Dorset, England and Radcliffe College in Cambridge, MA. She and her husband, Donough O'Brien M.D., and their two boys, Turlough (Toby) and Rushton (A.J.) emigrated to Denver in 1957 where Donough was a professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Madeline was a devoted mother, avid tennis player, playwright and volunteer for the Denver Public Schools and Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. Madeline was predeceased by Donough, Toby and her grandson, Chauncey. She is survived by her sons A.J. and Quentin and their families; her granddaughter, Caitlin, and Toby's widow, now Mrs. John Carver. She will also be remembered by her many lifelong friends.
