The RMHUC welcomes alumni from all schools for this special event! A networking reception with light appetizers and drinks will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by a fireside chat with former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Jean Dubofsky (LLB 1967) and biographer Susan Berry Casey at 6:30 pm.

Justice Dubofsky and Ms. Casey will talk and answer questions about Justice Dubofsky's experiences at Harvard Law School in the 1960’s, her appointment as the first woman on the Colorado Supreme Court in 1979, and her successful argument before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1996 in the landmark gay rights case of Romer v. Evans. They also will discuss Ms. Casey's recent biography about Justice Dubofsky, Appealing for Justice.     

Appealing for Justice is a deeply researched, riveting biography that captures the untold story of Jean Dubofsky as she battled injustice over four decades. It places Dubofsky and Colorado at the center of our country's fight for social justice when Dubofsky successfully argued Romer v. Evans before the U.S. Supreme Court. It is a captivating human story of fears and triumph--of hurdles overcome, battles won, and a time in the nation's history that breaks our hearts and renews our spirits. Autographed copies of the book will be available for purchase.
